Fernando Argüelles, studied Image Sciences at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (Spain). During that time he co-founded Oasis Films, a production company where he directed and photographed about 30 short films including his first feature as Director of Photography “Best Seller”, selected for the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain.

During the eighties, Argüelles was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to study Cinematography at the prestigious American Film Institute, where in his second year he obtained another scholarship from The Olga & Joseph Aurebach Family. Argüelles received an MFA in Cinematography after finishing the second year project, “Family Man”.

 

Among his extensive feature films, Movies, TV series and miniseries credits in the USA and abroad, Argüelles has lensed “Hemlock Grove” (Netflix), “Second Chance” (Fox), “Grimm“(NBC), “Prison Break” (Fox), “Breakout Kings” (A&E) and he is currently scheduled to shoot the feature film, “Ice” for director Chuck Russell.  Fernando’s work on “Hemlock Grove” has received accolades for it’s “big screen movie look”.
